“I hold 32 years of memories wherever I go. They can be mine or someone else’s. Memories and personal stories are my greatest inspiration in everything I do, whether it’s a commissioned mural or a birthday gift. ”

This exhibition is more of a way to cherish the forgotten and unforgettable memories than it being an art project. It’s funny how one moment can live with you forever. Recalling it makes you smile, cry, feel a breeze or sun rays on your skin. This exhibition is keeping these memories alive, giving the chance for people to genuinely tell their own stories, their way.

What’s The Story Behind the Shutter?

The exhibition included 10 different artworks featuring 10 different memories. They were inspired by photos of a diversity of Egyptian, Arab and European individuals sharing their special moments. The artworks were accompanied each with an audio of the person telling their own story in their own pace. Some of the audios included laughters, tears or expressive pauses.

The process

The moments were selected through an Open Call form. It included the story and the photos desired to be painted. The photos were selected according to their stories and the artistic composition that compliments the art style. Once the photos were selected, they were painted on a 120x80cm canvas, and the audios were recorded for once.
